Already 14 European countries have refused to vaccinate their populations with AstraZeneca (“AstraZeneca”), causing noisy tensions. Blood clots in the UK have been reported relatively more often after Pfizer than after AstraZeneca, meaning that neither vaccine has an unusual level of risk.
Scientists continue to claim that blood clotting and vaccines have nothing in common.
Fourteen European countries, after some hesitation, turned their backs on the Oxford vaccine, including France, Germany, Italy and Spain, as well as Bulgaria. This created a disturbing distrust of the properties of AstraZeneca and raised fears that this vaccine predisposes to blood clots and their life-threatening complications.
But countries have no explanation as to why there are relatively more cases in Britain after Pfizer, according to the Daily Mail.
Yesterday, the European Union (EU) regulators came out with an explanation for the lack of any evidence of any link between the vaccine and unwanted blood clotting. Neither vaccine has side effects beyond the mild cases previously announced before the vaccine is given.
The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has confirmed its belief that vaccination with AstraZeneca should be continued.
