The appearance of a rash or lesions does not necessarily mean monkeypox.
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Dermatologists revealed that there are several skin problems that can cause acne stupid or lumps similar to monkey pox. Even so, all new rashes or bumps still need to be taken seriously.

Symptoms of lumps that resemble monkeypox, for example, can be caused by several other skin problems. Some of them are acne, skin reactions to heavy metals, ingrown hairs (ingrown hair), eczema, or even psoriasis.

Not only that, some sexually transmitted infections such as syphilis, herpes, and genital warts also have symptoms similar to monkeypox. These diseases can cause red rashes or bumps on the body. Bacterial infections such as impetigo also cause symptoms in the form of redness, inflammation, and bumps on the skin.
Dr Mihelle Henry, a dermatologist and founder of Skin & Aesthetic Surgery of Manhattan, said: “(Genetic conditions) such as neurofibromatosis, which can cause long-lasting skin growth, can look like monkeypox to the untrained eye.
What are the symptoms of monkeypox?
Experts are urging the public to stay aware of the emergence of new rashes. They also advise the public to monitor how the rash develops over time. If you can document the development of the rash through photos it will be better.
“(Monkey pox rash) can appear anywhere and is usually associated with systemic symptoms and a general feeling of malaise,” said Dr Abdelmalek.
In monkeypox, the rash usually starts with prodrome or early signs that often indicate impending disease. However, some diseases can also have direct this one monkey pox without it prodrome.
After the rash appeared, Dr Henry revealed that the rash would evolve over time. At first, this rash will look flat or flat. Gradually, a lump filled with fluid or pus will appear.
“Then it will become a scab and you will transmit the disease until the rash heals,” explains Dr Henry.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) revealed that people who suspect they have monkey pox symptoms need to immediately contact a health care provider who can provide further testing. Tests need to be done to find out if the symptoms are really caused by monkeypox or some other problem.
