Pertamax price increase is still being studied
PT Pertamina (Persero) Vice President (VP) Corporate Communication Fajriyah Usman said that his party was still reviewing the plan to increase the price of Pertamax.
“Pertamina is still conducting a study on this matter,” said Fajriyah when confirmed Kompas.com, Thursday (31/3/2022) afternoon.
On this occasion, Fajriyah explained that Pertamax consumption was only 14 percent of Pertamina’s total fuel consumption.
Meanwhile, Pertamax Turbo to Dexlite, the consumption rate is only 3 percent.
“The consumption volume of non-subsidized Pertamax fuel is around 14 percent, while other non-subsidized Pertamax Turbo, Pertamina Dex and Dexlite are only 3 percent,” he said.
“The rest is subsidized fuel such as Solar subsidy and Pertalite,” Fajriyah said.
Considering world oil prices
Separately, Pertamina’s Subholding Commercial and Trading Corporate Secretary Irto Ginting said that his party was still conducting a study on the price adjustment of this type of fuel.
He declined to confirm when the price adjustment policy was implemented.
But what is certain, he added, is that a study of the magnitude of the increase in Pertamax prices is carried out by considering world oil prices and people’s purchasing power.
“We still review price adjustments, including the amount. We are still considering the development of world oil and also people’s purchasing power,” said Irto when contacted Kompas.com, Thursday (31/3/2022).

The signal for an increase in the price of Pertamax fuel (BBM) (Pertamax price) is getting stronger –
As previously reported, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) predicts that the economic price or upper limit of RON 92 Pertamax fuel could reach Rp 16,000 per liter in April 2022.
This was conveyed by the Head of the Bureau of Communication, Public Information Services, and Cooperation of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Agung Pribadi, quoted from page migas.esdm.go.idFriday (25/3/2022).
Agung said that the price of oil in March 2022 was much higher than February, triggering Pertamax’s economic price to soar in April.
“Considering the oil price in March which was much higher than February, the economic price or the upper limit of general fuel RON 92 in April 2022 will be even higher than Rp. 14,526 per liter. It could be around Rp. 16,000 per liter,” he said.
Furthermore, his party is still monitoring the price of this oil because if it is prolonged it will cause a heavy burden for the State Budget, Pertamina, and other sectors.
