Zaragoza
From the first of this Saturday, donations from anonymous citizens began to fill the containers of the Food Bank and Radio Zaragoza. One of the first supporters, a woman, said that she donated because “there are many people who need it, who knows if I might need it tomorrow.”
He came with two bags full of preserves, which was one of the requests from the bank, which also needs pasta, crackers, rice or salt. In general, non-perishable products to meet the increase in requests. Among the supporters who have approached, a repeated question: if you can donate money. It is not possible, but the volunteers offer to accompany them to a nearby supermarket.
Jesús Bádenas, volunteer coordinator of the Salvador Allende Civic Center, hopes that this Saturday’s donations will help fill the bank’s depleted shelves due to the increase in social needs.
The campaign takes place between 10 am and 2 pm, and between 5 pm and 9 pm, in the Civic Centers of Las Fuentes, Delicias, Río Ebro and Estación del Norte.
