Alpine ski star Anna Veith’s resignation seems to be getting closer. In a conversation with Alexandra Meissnitzer on Saturday, the Salzburg Olympic champion “looks back on the past season after her third comeback in four years”, as the ski association said in a press release. The livestream will take place on Saturday from 6.55 p.m. from Schladming / Rohrmoos, ORF1 will broadcast live.

Last week the Kronenzeitung wrote that the 30-year-old from Salzburg will end her successful career, but this has not been confirmed. “The rumors are growing that insider circles are going directly to the ski pension instead of the coming season. Next or the following week, or at least still in May, they should officially announce their resignation,” wrote the Kronenzeitung. The ÖSV media partner speculated that “this may also have private reasons”.
Veith, born Fenninger and married to Manuel Veith since April 2016, is one of the most successful skiers in recent years. The Salzburg native is Olympic champion (Super-G 2014), triple world champion (Super combination 2011, Super-G and giant slalom 2015), twice overall World Cup winner (2013/14 and 2014/15) and three times Austria’s athlete of the year (2013, 2014, 2015 ). After their outstanding seasons 2013/14 and 2014/15, however, they kept throwing back serious injuries.
