Suara.com – Directorate General of Air Transportation, Ministry of Communications, ensuring that the Lion Air flight from the Wuhan-Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang route is not a scheduled or regular flight, but a charter flight.
This statement is in response to the news circulating in the media regarding the opening of flights by Lion Air with the Wuhan-Soekarno-Hatta Airport route.
The Director General of Air Transportation, Novie Riyanto, said that the charter flight had met the flying requirements and obtained a Flight Approval (FA) permit on April 18-19, 2021 from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation to serve charter flights with the aim of transporting foreigners from China for work / company.
“International flights from the Wuhan-CGK route are served by Lion Air, we ensure that these flights are flights carried out with a charter system, not scheduled and have met immigration and health requirements. The FA issuance also pays attention to the aspects of Covid-19 control in Indonesia,” Novie said in his statement on Sunday (2/5/2021).

International flights with a charter system on the Wuhan-CGK route are known to carry passengers of Foreign Workers (TKA) from China who have fulfilled immigration requirements and meet health document requirements, and then carry out a quarantine process according to applicable regulations.
“This charter flight carries foreign workers and all passengers have met the immigration requirements in the form of VISA / KITAP / KITAS and have health documents in the form of PCR test results with negative results, and then quarantine is carried out and PCR tests have been carried out twice,” said Novie.
As is known, according to Law Number 1 of 2009 concerning Aviation, Article 93, states that foreign unscheduled commercial air transport activities carried out by national commercial air transport business entities must obtain flight approval from the Minister.
Applicants for charter flights are also required to comply with the provisions of the applicable laws and regulations in the field of aviation, in this case including the control of Covid-19 in Indonesia, through the Circular of the Minister of Transportation Number SE 21 of 2020 concerning Guidelines for International Travel by Air Transportation during the Pandemic Period Covid-19 and immigration requirements in the Regulation of the Minister of Law and Human Rights Number 26 of 2020 concerning Visas and Stay Permits in the Adaptation Period for New Habits.
