There are already eight regions in the country where a flu epidemic has been declared by the end of the month.
From today until January 31, students in Plovdiv and the district are on flu vacation.
The Regional Health Inspectorate reported an increase compared to last week in acute respiratory diseases and cases of influenza. And according to the data of the Regional Department of Education, 20 percent of children are absent from school.
As soon as the flu season ends at the end of the month, mid-term vacation begins. Thus, students in Plovdiv and the region will be on vacation for two weeks.
As of today, a flu epidemic has been declared for the Yambol region. The students go on vacation from tomorrow.
A flu holiday until the end of the week has been announced in the Gabrovo region. Classes are being resumed in Loveshko and Pazardjishko.
The first district in the country where distance learning started was Stara Zagora. There until January 27, inclusive – students will study online, and the flu epidemic has been extended until January 31.
No additional measures are required for Sofia, commented Health Minister Asen Medzhidiev.
