Route 45 continues to be the protagonist of new road accidents that claim the lives of people in Huila. On this occasion, a third accident with a fatality was recorded on the highway that leads from Campoalegre to the municipality of Hobo, Huila.
According to the preliminary report, the accident occurred when Rodrigo Sierra Olaya was traveling aboard a motorcycle on the national highway, where due to circumstances that are yet to be established, he was crashed into a truck.
Product of the strong crash, the man was badly injured on the floor where he finally died. It should be noted that although they tried to provide first aid, the motorcyclist no longer had vital signs.
The mobile criminalistics unit of the Transit and Transportation Section arrived at the scene to carry out the respective inquiries into what happened. After drawing the sketch of the accident, they proceeded with the removal of the corpse, transferring it to the Institute of Legal Medicine.
Regarding the deceased, it was learned that he was the president of the Community Action Board of the Los Rosales de Campoalegre village. His death caused deep sadness in his acquaintances who regretted what happened.
“What a sad friend, a schoolmate for a long time, rest in peace and strength for his family,” said Ferley Fierro. On the other hand, Mora Bahamón specified, “God receive him in his kingdom, may he rest in peace cousin, how sorry I am for your departure, comfort and strength for the whole family.”
In the population there is concern about the high rate of accidents with deaths between the road that connects the rice capital of Huila, with the town of Obeña. Until yesterday there were already three accidents in which José Eduardo Cardoso and Natalia Cortés also died in the last week.
The authorities recommended that drivers travel obeying traffic signs, respecting speed limits, not driving while intoxicated, taking rest periods and not performing dangerous maneuvers.
The Superintendency of Transportation is already carrying out a Road Safety program and will reinforce its presence in the critical points with the highest accident rates in the departments of Putumayo, Huila and Cesar, especially in the projects of Ruta del Sol, section 3 and the roads between Neiva , Pitalito and Mocoa.
