The Buenos Aires Ministry of Health confirmed that the assisted fertility treatment to which a couple from Abasto, La Plata party underwent, was successful, so there are already 29 successful pregnancies in the province after the sanction of the fertilization law in December 2010.

“Today the San Martín team confirmed that this couple from Abasto achieved pregnancy and, in this way, 29 families are already expecting a baby thanks to the implementation of the new law in our hospitals ”, highlighted the provincial Minister of Health, Alejandro Collia.
At the San Martín de La Plata hospital, nine other couples are being treated who must undergo highly complex treatments, with In Vitro or ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection) techniques.
These couples come from La Plata, Banfield, Florencio Varela, Berazategui, Ensenada and Quilmes.
On March 18, the first pregnancy achieved at the San Martín hospital was announced. At that time, Claudia Ferreyra (37) from La Plata, who had four years of failed attempts.
Since the regulation of the new law, which considers infertility as a disease and the consequent coverage of treatments, the provincial hospitals Güemes de Haedo, Alende de Mar del Plata, San Martín de La Plata and Penna de Bahía Blanca began to treat couples totally free.
