There are agreements in restaurants, but also fines

Most of the offenses ended in an agreement, but there were also fines. “Five cases of explicit violation will be resolved by a fine, some cases are resolved by agreement, but usually customers have the necessary documents,” Aleš Kotrla, a spokesman for the Moravian-Silesian Regional Hygiene Station, told Práva.

Hygiene surveyed about 1,500 customers to determine if the guests had the necessary document or a respirator, if they were not consuming anything at all. Hygiene representatives go to the field with the police. In the past, it was often at the instigation of citizens. According to Kotrla, however, those are gradually decreasing.

Last year, hygienists in Central Bohemia also performed more than two hundred inspections in front gardens or directly in restaurants. At present, as in Prague, the disease is spreading the most. However, they do not plan to intensify field inspections.

In June, they found non-compliance with government measures in a fifth of cases, which they all resolved by agreement. “Violation of the rules set out in an extraordinary measure of the Ministry of Health by the fact that visitors do not have a test at all or has passed it is detected only very sporadically,” Libuše Polanská from Central Bohemian Hygiene told Práva. Last week, they checked 32 customers in restaurants.

Minister Adam Vojtěch (for YES) is considering that the capacities of hygienists would be redirected elsewhere and mandatory inspections would be transferred directly to the operator. According to him, some are already doing so now and completely voluntarily. But not everyone agrees with such a step. “Gastro is not a hotel or a fitness center,” emphasized Luboš Kastner, a member of the Association of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and Tradesmen.

According to him, control in restaurants is much more complicated. “We want to leave the responsibility to the guest. It seems logical to us. The executive branch is far more efficient in terms of hygiene, and we are not even sure if it is legally passable, “he explained to Práva, adding that no conclusions had yet been reached at the meeting with the ministry.
