This figure is also a serious concern Regional AIDS Commission (KPAD) East Kutai Regency (Kutim) to increase HIV and AIDS infectious disease socialization for teenagers.
The reason is, inside Kutim already 169 adolescents have been exposed to the disease for which no cure has been found.
According to Yusuf, today’s young people already understand a lot about reproductive education, so they should already have provisions related to sexually transmitted diseases.

However, field practice will be very different considering that HIV can also be transmitted through used syringes.

Kutim Health Office itself aims to eliminate HIV transmission in 2023 so that Kutim can have zero new infections (no additions).

Yusuf also appealed to people living with HIV or AIDS not to be ashamed of receiving treatment even if they cannot be 100% cured.
“People with HIV/AIDS can do business like society at large. That includes working and having a family. But the most important thing is to take regular medication even if it can’t be cured,” she said.
