Twelve alleged assassins and drug dealers arrested, as well as a seized arsenal, is the result of the police-military offensive deployed this Monday at the municipality of San Juan Nuevo Parangaricutirowhere at least four drug cartels operate.
The Secretary of Public Security of Michoacán (SSP), specified that after twelve hours of operation, four assassins were captured who, with several other accomplices – fugitives – are responsible for carrying out at least six “narco-blockades” in San Juan Nuevo and the adjoining municipality of Uruapan, where 13 trailers, trucks and vehicles were set on fire.
The remaining eight detainees were surprised with 16 bags with various amounts of marijuana and seeds of this drug.
During the device, also Three vehicles were seized -one of them armored-, 22 assault rifles -one caliber .50-, four pistols and 31 chargers with hundreds of useful cartridges.
Agents of the Army, the National Guard, the State Police and the Attorney General’s Offices of the Republic and the State, continue with the operation in San Juan Nuevowhich could be extended in the next few hours to various municipalities in the region.
It is worth mentioning that The Jalisco New Generation (CJNG), Cartels Unidos, Los Caballeros Templarios and Pueblos Unidos cartels operate in the area.
Only last march 10a commando of gunmen violently broke into San Juan Nuevo, entering the building that houses the City Hall, where Soldiers managed to subdue and arrest 32 assassins in military uniformsassault rifles, pistols, grenades and bulletproof vests.
The irruption of this armed group, related by the Federal Government to the CJNG, left five civilians dead, including an alleged drug trafficker leader.
