There are 118 possible reasons for Mozart’s death, suggests Dr. William Dawson, a retired orthopedic surgeon, hicomm.bg reported. To reach this conclusion, the doctor analyzed a serious amount of scientific literature.
Dawson classified the possible causes of the end of the famous composer into five main groups – poisoning, infection, cardiovascular disease, kidney disease and all other diagnoses. Among the most probable of all, the doctor points to uremia (intoxication), rheumatism, tuberculosis, and septic endocarditis.
There are no written records of the course of Mozart’s real illness. Historians refer only to data provided by the composer’s relatives. Mozart died on December 5, 1791 after a month-long illness.
