Therapist warned about the danger of a delayed heart attack after the flu

Therapist Marina Konstantinova warned about the risk of a delayed heart attack after suffering the flu.

A few weeks after the flu, the patient may experience a so-called delayed heart attack. It is reported on February 12 Ura.rureferring to a general practitioner Maryna Konstantinova.

– Sometimes complications appear some time after the infection. For example, a delayed heart attack, when it occurs two to three weeks after the flu, if bed rest was not observed. The thing is that with high physical activity, the virus quickly spreads in the blood and causes inflammation of the walls of blood vessels, and with frequent infections, cardiovascular diseases. By causing a change in blood clotting, the virus contributes to the development of stroke and heart attack. Hence the concept of delayed heart attacks appeared, – the news agency quotes the expert.

Recall, candidate of medical sciences Nikolai Kryuchkov said that this season there is a high risk of contracting several viral infections at once, including influenza and coronavirus.

Since the beginning of the epidemic season, more than 5.3 thousand laboratory-confirmed cases of influenza have been registered in the Krasnodar Territory. The weekly epidemiological threshold for the total population was exceeded in Krasnodar by 3.9%.

As the deputy head of the department of Rospotrebnadzor for the Krasnodar Territory commented earlier Tatiana Grechanaya, in the region there is a decrease in the incidence of influenza and SARS. However, the flu is still a priority. Of all laboratory-diagnosed cases, porcine A/H1N1 predominates – it makes up 42% in the overall structure of morbidity.
