Olcay is asked about Theo Maassen’s alleged domestic violence. Weekly Private has spoken to his mistress. For example, she says that he broke his wife Joyce’s nose, among others. This would also be evident from app traffic between the mistress and Theo’s wife, which is in the hands of the magazine. Joyce recently indicated that she does not recognize herself and Theo in the articles and that she does not want to go into details.
“I was a bit surprised at what Johan said, because I am very committed to domestic violence. I had the idea that you portrayed the victim as a vindictive woman,” Olcay begins to Johan. Both Johan and Olcay experienced domestic violence in their youth. “I take that very seriously,” says Johan. “I just think that woman went to the wrong counter. You don’t report something as serious to a magazine as Private.”
Johan believes that you should report it to the police, but according to Olcay that is not always possible. “If there’s no evidence, no pictures of bruises, then you can’t even press charges. So maybe this was her last straw.” Johan insists that Theo’s ex-mistress is resentful.
Johan points out to Olcay that Theo’s wife, who is said to be a victim, has resolved the matter Private denies. “She doesn’t say ‘there was no domestic violence’, but ‘I didn’t break anything,'” says Olcay. She tells Johan that he hurts many victims with his statements. “I don’t hurt victims, but I do want to kick vindictive women, yes,” he answers.
Johan thinks that Olcay dramatizes the story because she does not know the ins and outs. “I don’t think this is a topic to talk about ‘maybe,’” he says. “But you do it, because you call her a ‘resentful bitch’,” Olcay counters him. Johan decides that he finds it ‘shocking’ when men beat up their wives. “But I don’t know whether Theo did that. I do know that that lady betrayed him and threw him under the bus. And I find that shameful.”
Despite the clash, Johan finds Olcay a nice table guest. “I think you are a very attractive woman and you jump off the screen. As far as I’m concerned, you can come every evening,” he says towards the end of the broadcast.
