Limburg must do everything it can to emerge stronger from the corona crisis.

Bovens is most looking forward to Limburg emerging from the corona pandemic. “That it is possible to visit people again, without having to take anything into account,” says the governor. “Cuddling each other again, satisfying skin hunger”, he adds. “Because we are coronamoe. “We are going to get out of this crisis, but we have to get out better.” The governor indicates that Limburg was on the right track economically before the corona crisis. “With little unemployment.” Bovens hopes that Limburg can pick up the thread after the corona pandemic, with few unemployed provincial peers. “That the economy gets going and people don’t have to be afraid of becoming unemployed.”
Good road
In terms of vitality and health, the Limburg population was on the right track before the corona outbreak, says Bovens. “The healthy primary school is a project that I like to continue.”
Young people
In any case, the governor wants to work a lot with young people in 2021. Actually, Bovens would be on the road with young fellow provincial authorities a lot in 2020, but the corona pandemic has thrown a spanner in the works. Nevertheless, he wants to ensure that young people from Limburg do not have to look back on a lost year. “We are working very hard on 1000 extra internships for young people at municipalities and companies, so that young people can complete their training in a meaningful way.”
Remain a member
Bovens also indicates that Limburgers themselves partly determine how the province will get out of the corona crisis. “If we want to make music, we have to stay a member of the harmony. If we are happy with the militia, we must remain a member of the militia”, he says.
