Autonews.ru decided to go to major Moscow dealerships to find out how much the once affordable foreign-made models actually cost and which of them can still be bought in the range of up to 2 million rubles.

Volkswagen

Volkswagen has not yet restored its activities in Russia. However, German brand cars can still be found in large car dealerships. The most affordable option in one of the capital’s dealerships was the Polo liftback. For a car with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine with 110 hp. and a manual transmission in the Respect configuration, the trading company asked for 1,700,000 rubles.

“The car has everything you need: heated front seats, air conditioning, multifunction steering wheel and rear parking sensors. A very good option for the money. I can also immediately reassure: we have maintained our warranty and service at the same level, ”the German liftback seller advertises.

The dealer also has two-pedal Polo, which cost 1,969,000 rubles. According to the manager of the dealership, the car is equipped with four additional packages at once: “Winter”, “Comfort”, “Sport” and “Safety”. True, you won’t be able to choose the color of the car: in the showroom, the liftback is presented only in red.

Colleagues in the north-west of Moscow did not have Polo in stock. However, the seller offered to consider buying a Volkswagen Bora sedan with a 150-horsepower engine and a “robot”. Officially, this car was not sold on our market, but the dealership began to bring these models privately.

Come on

At the moment, the most affordable Kia model in Russia is the Picanto compact hatchback. We were able to find this car without any problems at the very first dealership where we applied with a corresponding request. Cars in the showroom are presented only with an automatic transmission and in the only Style package. Price – 1,800,000 rubles. For this money, the client will receive a car with a 1.0-liter gasoline engine with 92 hp. Among the useful options: parking sensors, a light sensor, a rear-view camera, climate control and heated front seats.

But with the purchase of the once most popular foreign car in Russia – Kia Rio – difficulties may arise. On the official website of the Korean brand, the minimum cost of this model is 1,424,900 rubles. However, we did not manage to find cars for this money in the capital. In the very first showroom, sedans and high hatchbacks are available only in “older” trim levels and cost at least 2,250,000 rubles. In another car dealership, Rio sedans are sold a little cheaper – for 2,050,000 rubles.

“There are very few Rio cars left, and I’m not sure if they will appear in our showrooms in the future. Therefore, now such machines are worth their weight in gold. You are unlikely to find them cheaper, ”the seller explained.

Skoda

After a long search in one of the capital’s dealerships, we still managed to find a Skoda Rapid. Moreover, the seller had liftbacks in several trim levels at once. So, the dealership manager offered a car with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine and an “automatic” in the basic Active version. The car is equipped with LED optics, cruise control, rear parking sensors and air conditioning. The cost of the car is 1,950,000 rubles.

Also, the Czech liftback can be bought in the average Ambition configuration with climate control, a rear-view camera, heated seats and side mirrors, as well as a color multimedia display. Those wishing to purchase such a car will have to pay 2,050,000 rubles. At the same time, the showroom employee promised to discuss a possible discount with the company’s management, but did not name its exact size.

“You have a chance to have time to buy a normal European car. Let’s be objective, then only China and Lada,” the dealer emphasized.

Hyundai

At once in two car dealerships in Moscow, we were unable to find the most affordable Hyundai model – Solaris. However, the desired car was in the third showroom, and not in a single copy. So, the seller offered to consider buying a Korean sedan with a manual transmission in the basic Active Plus configuration for 1,950,000 rubles. The car with a 1.6-liter engine (123 hp) is equipped with halogen headlights, 15-inch wheels and air conditioning. Moreover, on the official website of the brand, which has recently undergone a redesign, car prices start at 1,408,000 rubles.

After paying 50 thousand rubles, in another car dealership you can buy a compact Hyundai Bayon crossover, which the dealer began to independently import into our country. For 2 million rubles. the client will receive a car in the Prime configuration with climate control, a rear-view camera, heated front seats and steering wheel, keyless entry. A 1.0-liter gasoline engine with 100 hp is installed under the hood of the car. The unit works in conjunction with a seven-speed “robot” with two clutches.

JAC

Another option to meet the 2 million when buying a new car is the JAC J7 liftback. For this money, you can buy a Chinese car in the Comfort package with LED headlights, air conditioning, heated front seats, a rear-view camera and cruise control. Gearbox – mechanics. The version with the “automatic” will cost about 150 thousand rubles. expensive. A 1.5-liter gasoline engine with a return of 136 hp is installed under the hood of the car.

“The car can be seen as an alternative to the Skoda Octavia. At the same time, it will be difficult for you to find the Czech model now, and the prices for it have skyrocketed. Therefore, for me personally, there would be absolutely no choice here, ”the seller shares with us.

Chery

Chinese Chery crossovers are knocked out of the price range of 2 million rubles. So, the most affordable crossover of this brand Tiggo 4 in the dealership was estimated at 2,100,000 rubles. However, the manager of the trading company promised to give us a “good discount” if we visited the dealership within the next week. The front-wheel drive crossover can be bought with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with 113 hp. and variator. Acceleration to hundreds takes 14.6 s.
