THE Emmanuel Karalis and Armand Duplantis they gave the audience an excellent final in the pole vault. The 24-year-old Greek champion won the bronze medal, the first of his career, with a jump of 5.90m. increasing the country’s harvest in the Paris Olympics.
And Duplantis, after securing the gold, chose to break the world record once more. He set the bar at 6.25m. and with an astonishing leap he succeeded in winning universal bow.

Karalis and Duplantis are connected by a long presence in the pole vault finals, from the small age groups. They are separated by only twenty days (20/10/1999 “Manolo” was born, 10/11/1999 “Mondo”), starting from their teenage years their joint presence on the podium.

Almost a decade later, on the “big stage” of the Olympic Games, the two lived side by side in the grand final. The camera “caught” Karalis’ embrace of Duplantis after securing the gold medal, with the Greek Olympian standing by the side of his Swedish teammate, when he decided to set the bar at 6.25m. encouraging him to break another record.
