Beware of thieves – handbags have even been stolen from shopping carts, as the example in Illertissen shows.
A visitor to a supermarket on Saumweg in Illertissen briefly lost sight of the shopping cart with the handbag in it on Friday afternoon (30 August 2024).
An as yet unknown perpetrator took advantage of this and stole the bag. When the 48-year-old victim noticed the theft, she remembered a suspicious vehicle in the vicinity of the parked shopping cart.
She recognized the car nearby, approached it and confronted the driver. During the conversation she finally saw her handbag lying on the back seat. She opened the door, reached into the vehicle, took the bag and the stranger then fled.
Due to the incident, the Illertissen police station has begun investigating the as yet unknown perpetrator for theft. Witnesses to the incident are asked to call 07303/9651-0.
