In the only professional drama theater in Southern Lithuania – the Alytus City Theater – the best of the year were honored: two of the most deserving theater employees are awarded annually for their creative artistic achievements and other significant contribution to the life of the theater.
The theater day was marked by the opening of the outdoor exhibition “Open Seams” (moments from rehearsals)., in the Town Hall Square, everyone is invited to look at theater life from a different angle. The author of the exhibition, photographer Valentinas Kryžiokas.
In the evening after the performance “Tram of Desires” (dir. Suren Shahverdyan) traditionally “Teatrakmeniai” awarded for the ninth time, this year it is the author’s creations of blacksmith Martynas Breikštas. The new winners of “Teatrakmenių” were announced by the director of the Alytus City Theater Inesa Pilvelytė and assistant director Alma Purvinytė, who won last year’s awards.
The first “Teatrakmenios” award for a particularly responsible attitude to work, diligence and duty dedicated to theater personnel and clerical specialist, lawyer – public procurement specialist Ingrida Šleinotaita.
„After almost ten years of work here, at the Alytus City Theatre, I am glad that my colleagues, invisible to the majority of people, but really necessary and hard work, were really noticed and appreciated,” said I. Šleinotaitė.
The second “Teatrakmenis” went to the hands of Povilas Adomaitis, an actor well known to the audience. In 2023, P. Adomaitis created roles in 3 plays. All roles are effective, they are recognizable, alive and relevant, filled with new perceptions and meanings. The actor is constantly improving his professional skills.
The actor actively participates in other theater activities, educational programs and events. In social networks, he actively shares information about future Alytus City Theater performances, events, and the roles he creates, thus aiming to promote Alytus City Theater and attract viewers.
„Thanks to the theater, thanks to the audience. You will never do or create anything alone, or it would be really difficult to do it alone. When there is a team, someone who gathers, connects, exchanges emotions, knowledge and inspires, then very beautiful things are born. I congratulate you on Theater Day!”, P. Adomaitis said while accepting the award.
