Theatre: ‘Burn Baby Burn’ at the Estación Alta Festival

Burn Baby Burn, takes the viewer to an abandoned gas station where the sun beats down. Noseri lives there. Violeta arrives with her motorcycle in search of fuel. Young, with a furious desire to live, each one invents a life that confronts the expectations of the other. Smoke, jokes, rebellion and hope make up this immobile road-movie where the heroines move through the imagination. A unique friendship will be born between them. The arrival of Issa, a pizza delivery man, threatens to compromise her wishes and plans.

The show is thanks to the agreement between the Alliance Française of Lima, the National Higher School of Dramatic Art Guillermo Ugarte Chamorro (ENSAD, Peru) and the National School of Theater Arts and Techniques (ENSATT, France), Burn Baby Burn It stars the actresses and actors from ENSAD: Abigail López, Angela Rojas, Aric Bernal and Verónica Infantes.

Edited by the Tintas Frescas collection (Argentina), which brings together the best contemporary playwrights in France selected by the management of the renowned playwriting festival, La Mousson d’été, Burn Baby Burn For this staging, it has the set and costume design by Margaux Moulin and the conception and execution of the lighting by Lucas Collet, both students at ENSATT in France.

The music of Burn Baby Burn It has been worked with sounds and musical ideas originating from the folklore of the North American southwest; “Western music” is the term that encapsulates this series of musical ideas and sounds that were sought for the work, which, due to the setting, required a work with that musical approach.
