Theater Wolfsburg: Percussion concert by Doublebeats

downtown. Igor Stravinsky’s “Tango” has now opened the concert “Doublebeats: Fascination of Percussion” in the Scharoun Theater. It was the only piano piece that was heard as an arrangement for two marimba phones. Like all other pieces, the following composition by Philipp Jungk is a commissioned work for marimba and percussion, which not only depicts an impressive journey through the Chinese desert “Taklamakan”, but also captivates with its variety of rhythmic worlds. The rhythms of the subsequent “Music for Pieces of Wood” put the audience in dizzying listening dimensions.
