In the living room behind the sofa, in the shed behind the woodpile, in the corner of the garden or on an uninhabited island – everyone has wanted to build their own world alone as a child.
One – it means that no one is watching and you can do your own thing – cut a slice of sausage three times as thick as bread, don’t go to bed on time, sleep until noon, sleep with your feet on the pillow, sleep wherever you want, eventually – don’t go to sleep at all; instead, fight a dragon or cannibals in the middle of the night, howling loudly.
Alone – it also means that there is no one to cuddle with, to cry alone and also to laugh alone. One has to sing a lullaby, one has to decide, one has to be sick, there is no one to tell your genius joke. Unless you have tamed a parrot, dragon or cannibal.
