pulk fiktion is a performance group that was founded in Bonn in 2007 and is currently organized by the director and performer Hannah Biedermann and the performer and video artist Norman Grotegut. A heterogeneous group of young artists (from the fields of theater, film, music, performance, video art and interactive media) work on productions for children, adolescents and adults in different constellations.
The diverse and interdisciplinary approach of the group arises from the unconditional goal of tailoring the aesthetic form individually to the topic at hand. pulk fiction often finds its content in the media area and thus also the aesthetic access to its work.
As a group that initially dedicated itself to children’s and youth theater, it is now increasingly asking itself the question: how can a common life with all generations (of all nations and cultures) look like? And with that, what can contemporary theater look like for everyone? How can theater not only act out utopias, but also be a place of encounter and negotiation itself?
pulk fiktion was awarded the George Tabori Award 2016.
The productions, mostly piece developments, were invited to numerous national and international festivals, such as AUGENBLICK MAL! – Theatertreffen for theater for young audiences, WESTWIND – Children and Youth Theater Meeting NRW, SPURENSUCHE – Nationwide meeting of children and youth theaters, PERSPEKTIVES – Franco-German Festival of Stage Art, MOMIX – Children and Youth Theater Meeting France, SCHÄXPIR – International Children and Youth Theater Meeting in Austria and many others.
At the WESTWIND Festival, “The Rest of the World” won the audience award in 2012 and “Papa’s arms are a boat” in 2014 won 1st prize from the expert jury. The “Conference of the Essentials” was nominated for the Cologne Children’s and Youth Theater Prize 2015, was one of the BestOFF Lower Saxony selection in 2016 and was awarded the Children’s Jury Prize at Hart am Wind. “All about Nothing” was awarded the Youth Piece Prize of the Heidelberger Stückemarkt 2017, as well as the Expert Jury Prize and the Youth Jury Prize of the WESTWIND 2017.
From 2019 pulk fiktion will receive top funding from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
pulk fiction is a member of the International Association of Theater for Children and Young People ASSITEJ.
