Immenried – At the turn of the year, Theater Immenried eV will be performing the comedy “We are the New” based on the film of the same name by Ralf Westhoff (stage version by Jürgen Popig). Director Sandro Droth has been rehearsing with his actors since September for the performances on Thursday 26th, Friday 27th, Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th December 2024 as well as Thursday 2nd, Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th January. Seating can be done on www.theater-immenried.de be reserved.

On December 31st, the theater club will again be hosting the popular New Year’s Eve Ball, where, in addition to the theater performance, the band “Spot On” will entertain with live music. There is soup during the performance break, a buffet and midnight champagne. Further information about the event, such as how to get tickets (only in advance), can also be found on the website.

The comedy tells the story of three Munich singles Anne, Eddie and Johannes, all of whom have reached early retirement age, who decide, also for financial reasons, to revive their old shared apartment from their student days. This is how you move back together after a few decades of more or less successful professional life. Their new neighbors, the students Barbara, Katharina and Thorsten, soon feel disturbed by the party-loving old hippies while studying, complain about the noise pollution from the funny “old people” and insist on meticulous adherence to the house rules. The old people are amazed at the conformity and narrow-mindedness of the young people. A very special kind of generational conflict arises with all sorts of skirmishes and the tide only turns when the old people lend a helping hand to the young neighbors who are plagued by back pain and exam stress.
