The Somontano Development Center -Ceder- takes to seven municipalities in the region the play “I’m going to town” with the aim of promote better integration of new settlers come from the city and the local population. Theatrical performances begin this weekend in Azara (this Saturday at 8 p.m.) and Peraltilla (this Sunday at the same time).

“I’m going to town” addresses, from humor, the different perspectives between ordinary village residents and city people who decide to settle in them, they explain from the Ceder. Relying on humor, and in a “friendly” way, it seeks to generate reflection and debate among the adult audience. You want to contribute to stereotypes and preconceptions are overcome, Attitudes of respect and openness to differences are fostered, and mutual support, trust and inclusive coexistence are fostered.

It is a show produced by the project to combat depopulation Pueblos Vivos and the Colectivo TO de Huesca theater company. It was already designed last year, but it could be carried out in few places due to the restrictions established for social gatherings and cultural activities by the covid 19.

From this weekend and until Saturday, October 16, there will be 7 representations in the following towns: Azara, Peraltilla, Castejón del Puente, Asque, Salas Bajas, Naval and Huerta de Vero. Most of them will be carried out in open spaces or large premises, meeting the gauges, distances and other requirements established by health authorities to prevent the spread of covid.

The Ceder Somontano understands that for the peoples to remain alive it is necessary make it easier for young people who want to stay to do so, but it is also imperative that new people and families come to them because the current population is very old.
