The association of Friends of the Carmel du Dorat is organizing a concert in the chapel of the old Carmel on Saturday October 26 at 8:30 p.m., dedicated to Charles Gay (1815-1891), composer, auxiliary bishop of Poitiers and founder of the Carmel du Dorat . A childhood friend of Charles Gounod, Charles Gay collaborated with him on several musical projects until his death. The Carmel monastery also preserves the scores of their last joint project, which gave birth to Gounod’s oratorio, Saint Francis of Assisi. During this concert, you will have the opportunity to hear a new version of this Saint Francis, composed by Charles Gay, harmonized, orchestrated and performed by Father Jean-Baptiste Tison. The evening will also offer around ten works, mostly pianistic, performed by Anne-Sophie de Dinechin. Free participation.

Coffee repair
