Theater Artist: Journey Through Various Roles and New Projects

I consider myself a theater artist.

From a very young age I enjoyed the theater, my curiosity led me to go through many roles, as a dancer, actress, choreographer, assistant, director, even a ticket clerk when the tickets were made of paper and had to be inserted into a board with holes in it.

I enjoyed and learned from every place I had to be. After so many years on the road and without losing my passion, I am more selective.

My beginnings were with classical dance, teachers like Ricardo Rivas, Rina Valver. Norma Binaghi and many others. Then I did the contemporary dance workshop at the Teatro San Martín where I trained with Ana Itelman, Renate Schotelius, Ana Stekelman, Cristina Barnils. Oscar Araíz. Going through tango, I was part of the cast of Mariano Mores with whom I traveled the world. Theater with Franklin Caicedo. Just Gilbert. Theater Direction with Juan Carlos Gené and Augusto Fernandes. I am deeply grateful to my teachers who gave me the tools to be free.

These days I am premiering several works that fill me with happiness. From the neighborhood la mondiola. I was summoned for this work that was created during the pandemic and is already in its second season by Jorge Lorenzo, its author, as director and choreographer.

It is a very funny farce with characters pointing to the grotesque. The costumes, scenery and music place us in a time that the elderly will remember and the young will discover, and that consists of an ideal cast for the genre: Silvia Geijo. Jessica Livorsi. Carlos Ledrag and Jorge Lorenzo. They are accompanied by two excellent guitarists Juan Lorenzo and Moncho Santos. I have a talented and beloved team. In the arrangements and original music Esteban Morgado. In the locker room Mario Pera Ochoa. Set design Vanessa Abramovich. Illumination Horacio “Chino” Novelle. Assistant director Marcelo Durán and in production Elena Avena.

On the other hand, I made my debut as a choreographer at the CCC (Cultural Center for Cooperation) Israfel by Abelardo Castillo, directed by Daniel Marcove. With Aldo Pastur. Juan Manuel Correa. Antonia Bengoechea and a great cast. Scenography Hector Calmet. Costumes Paula Molina Lighting Horacio “Chino” Novelle. And “Difficult Years” by Roberto Tito Cossa directed by Eduardo Ruderman with Osvaldo Bermúdez, David Di Nápoli, Cecilia Labourt and Antonio Regueiro. The creative team of Héctor Calmet, set design, Marcelo Cuervo, lighting, and Fernando Dieguez original music.

I also had the pleasure of directing Canto para una semilla on texts by Violeta Parra starring Lidia Catalano and Miriam Martino and a delicious group of musicians Headed by Julieta Lizzoli, Musical Director, arranger and pianist, Diego Gazzaniga on percussion and Pablo Ponce on guitar, charango and wind instruments, with costumes by Alejandro Mateo. This show premiered at the Borges Cultural Center and will tour the entire country.

At the Teatro La Galera where I have been a choreographer since 1994, we premiered Poroto, my future mascot written and directed by Héctor Presa. With music by Diego Lozano, comings are given in Humboldt 1591. Soon I will premiere “Ya nadie remembers Frederic Chopin” by Roberto Tito Cossa. Directed by Norberto Gonzalo and with Amancay Espindola, Stella Matute, Brenda Fabregat, Leonardo Odierna, Claudio Pazos and Daniel Dibiase. The scenery and costumes by Alejandro Mateo, and the lighting design by Leandra Rodríguez.

In another order of things, he was part of the Argentores Theater Council where we accompany the authors of texts, music and choreography. Work that fills me with pride and responsibility. And that is how I keep walking along this wonderful path of theater.
