For the third consecutive year, the Municipality of Zaragoza and the CaixaBank entity once again reaffirm their commitment to the artistic-social project Caídos del Zielo, directed by Felice Martinowhich combines the participation of people at risk of social exclusion with professional actors and actresses.
The Teatro Principal hosted today the presentation of the third cycle of this theater workshop, which in 2021 received the special prize for the performing arts and social inclusion awarded by the Association of the Performing Arts Companies of Aragon (ARES). In its first two editions it has met with resounding success in its performances at the Teatro del Mercado, with the shows ‘Nobody’ and ‘Nobody awaits Godot’.
The Minister of Social Action and the Family of the Municipal Council, Angelo Lorenand the head of social action at CaixaBank, Javier Muñozcongratulated the director Félix Martín for this initiative, which began his new journey in the facilities of the Zaragoza dance center. There the workshops of singing, voice, body expression and interpretation began. The next step will be to determine what work they will perform on stage, in June 2023.
The workshop is part of First Plan of Opportunities of the Municipality of Zaragoza, which in one of its axes focuses on personal development and social participation in order to advance in integration paths. The results of ‘Caídos del Zielo’ were demonstrated by the artistic quality and the capacity for personal and social transformation experienced by the participants.
As a novelty this year, the collaboration of the Higher School of Design of Aragon (ESDA), whose students participated in the study and creation of the scenography, props and costumes for the show.
Beyond the representation in front of the public, which gives the project considerable visibility and public recognition, the essence of the initiative lies in its value as a way of expression, therapy and personal development for people struggling to avoid social exclusion.
Through this artistic-social project it was possible to create a place of meeting, communication, creation and empathyfrom a universal language such as theater, capable of promoting processes of overcoming and transformation.
