The gentleman in a bright summer dress is amazed: yes, the temples of the muses looked different when Leoš Janáček wrote his works. The Theater an der Wien had existed for a long time during the life of the Czech composer (1854 – 1928). However, as the building on the Naschmarkt is currently undergoing a general refurbishment and has moved into a replacement house in the Museumsquartier, Hall E, with its loudspeakers and all the modern stage construction, must seem a little odd to Mr. Janáček.
