During these school holidays, La Tanière hopes to thrill its visitors with a lot of pumpkins, witches, giant spiders and skeletons scattered in the aisles.
At the same time, the site is organizing workshops until Sunday: children can dig and carve their own Jack’O’Lantern pumpkin. A fun activity for the youngest and beneficial for the animals. The pulp of the squash will be distributed to them at the end of the activity.

The zoo-refuge also wanted to combine festive and educational activities around animals with daily activities allowing them to discover the care, the feeding of species and their lifestyles in the company of their carers.

The highlight of the festivities will take place this weekend. Saturday, La Tanière will organize a night by lantern light, from 6 to 8 p.m. “Children are invited to come in disguise and with a lantern. They will be able to discover the park illuminated for the occasion, ”explains Sophie Fernandes-Petitot, communications manager at the zoo-refuge.

A make-up workshop is also offered on Saturday and Sunday. The opportunity to better observe certain animals that go out more at night: “The nocturnes allow us to discover our residents in a new light. Wild animals are, for example, much more active at night, ”explains Sophie Fernandes-Petitot.
The employees and volunteers of the zoo-refuge will also be available to answer questions from curious about the camels, bears or parrots saved by the refuge. The evening will end with a distribution of sweets.
