At the center of the concert will be the premiere of Vaida Vovere’s upcoming musical based on the novel “The Collector” by J. Fowles. It is a story about butterflies and the collector. About a woman who wants to live more than anything, and a man who wants to love and be loved. The compositions were created with the support of the AKKA/LAA authors’ scholarship and, hopefully, one day they will join the ranks of Latvia as the first original Latvian musical whose music author has also created the text. , representatives of the museum note.

“Such a path to creating music is long and challenging, one must be aware of the limitations of the performing arts, one must be able to write poetic and emotional inner monologues and everyday conversations just as well. The music should be suggestive, colorful enough, but also comprehensible, organic, so that a complex score does not prevent seeing the most important thing. It’s hard work, but I’m full of inspiration and happiness,” said musician Vaira Vovere.

The concert “Reorganization” is also about metamorphosis. The two musicians, after turning from simple actors to actors and creators, want to invite the audience to change too, to want to see themselves in the changing context of the world. Imants Ziedonis called it Vertical, spiritual growth and upward movement.

Along with the upcoming music, works that have already been performed in “Vārsmā” will be performed, as well as compositions by Edgar Cīrulis and pieces from the beloved “Viegli” repertoire, to compose Imanta’s connection with the vision of the world and musical understanding of both new composers, according to representatives of the museum.

Edgars Cīrulis is a pianist, composer and part of the musical society “Trio elpo”, where he together with Jānis Rubik and Rudolf Dankfeld, plays music of different genres and also original works of the members of the trio. The trio has created a long-term collaboration with the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, where different genres and ideas meet in a great composition. Together with the singer Kristini Cīruli and other jazz and folk musicians, Edgars works in the group “Dream Teller”, the micro-album “Vides” was also recently released. Edgar’s music is surrounded by spirituality, space and the direction is very, advanced, pure.

Vaida Vovere is a composer, poet and singer. She gained stage experience by participating in musicals, including playing the role of Baiba in the musical “Pūt, vējini!” by Kārlis Lāčas. Last August, she also announced herself as the author of music and poetry in the concert “Vārsmas”, which was performed in the Ojārs Vācieš museum and later in the hall music and drama “Oratorio”. For this concert Vaida was nominated for the LSM award “Kilograms kulturas” in “Start” category. In the winter, she released her first single and music video “Prayer”, which tells about the destruction of war and disproportionate violence against women. Vaida’s music is based on great respect and love for words and theatre. Strong and unique poetic images and feelings of a young person are interwoven with everyday themes, the museum notes.
