This time we are continuing our Culinary Cinema series with the Engel Lichtspiele, the municipal cinema in Breisach. Together with the Pilzhof Rein From Breisach we will be able to taste mushroom growing products from 7 p.m. From 8:15 p.m. the film “The Zen Diary” takes us to Japan. Tsutomu, the writer, lives in a mountain hut in Nagano and collects fruits and mushrooms in the mountains. He also grows vegetables in a field and cooks his meals daily using these natural ingredients. This way he can feel the changing of the seasons and write his book. Occasionally he is visited by his editor and friend Machiko, with whom he cooks and eats using seasonal ingredients. They spend a good time together. Despite his seemingly carefree life, Tsutomu still cannot bury the ashes of his wife, who died 13 years ago.
