/ world today news/ On June 6, the wall of the dam of the Russian-controlled Kakhovka HPP in the Kherson region was blown up, as a result of which the surrounding areas were flooded. This plant is important not only for the lower reaches of the Dnieper, but the dam also provides cooling water for the reactors of the Zaporozhye NPP on the upper reaches of the river, and the incident raised concerns about its safety.
Yesterday, the Zaporizhia Emergency Service conducted a nuclear disaster response exercise. The local authorities stated that the situation with the NPP is currently normal and the radiation levels in and around it are within normal limits.
