The Youthful Vocalists from Acadie Will Perform in Carnegie Hall in New York.

This choir, made up of around fifty young people aged 11 to 18, will take the road to the Big Apple on Tuesday morning for an unforgettable five-day adventure, as part of the choral singing event Canada at Cargenie.

Antoine Vautour has been part of this Acadian choir for six years. He recognizes the enormous luck that he and his companions will have this week.

Seven Canadian choirs

A total of seven Canadian choirs will perform on this stage and sing repertoire in French, English and Anishinaabemowin. They will be accompanied by a Canadian string quartet.

Emma Breault is in her seventh and final year with the Jeunes Chanteurs d’Acadie. This trip to New York is therefore the pinnacle of his adventure, with this trip to Louisiana in 2018.

We make a lot of great trips with Les Jeunes Chanteurs d’Acadie. Going to Carnegie Hall in my senior year is great. In Louisiana, we were able to sing with Zachary Richardshe recalls.

The choir put the final touches to its preparation on Monday evening, before leaving early by bus on Tuesday morning.

It’s an important meeting and it takes us out of our house. Going to Carnegie Hall is an experience they will treasure for a lifetime. This is the room where the artists want to go to perform. It will be unforgettablesays director Nadine Hébert.

This is the first international trip since 2018 for this choir of young people aged 11 to 18. They will be under the direction of choirmasters Carrie Tennant and Jamie Hillman.
