The full-length youth film “Tizlenes” by film and theater director, winner of the “Big Kristaps” award, Marta Elīna Martinson will be premiered in Latvian cinemas on August 27, the film’s representatives informed. Movie posters have also been published for the first time.
“Tizlenes” tells about the adventures of three friends – Sarmīte, Sveta and Katrīna – on the eve of 2000. The trio has decided to change the status of their class “teens” and finish class 9 in “stylish status”.
As the filmmakers explained, “Tizlenes” is a work visually retained in the style of “two thousand” (the film’s operator-director is the award-winning Aigars Sērmukšs, who has also worked on the films “Jelgava 94”, “Quick Estonian Guys” and “Spy, who is my father”). ”) And freely uses references to both the popular culture of the time and the classics of cinema, bringing to the fore the story of adolescents ‘self-search, the difficult school life and the formation of young girls’ self-esteem at a globally and personally crucial time. The film is also complemented by a set of stylistically relevant songs, which have also made expressive music videos.
School-age actresses have been selected for the main roles – Asnāte Sofija Rožkalne, Ludmila Karpova, Katrīna Dambeniece and Gerda Embure, who are also supported by an ensemble of experienced and well-known actors, including Guna Zariņa, Daiga Kažociņa, Ģirts Krūmiņš, Imants Strads, Marti Linarte, Marija Linarte. Episodic roles have also been played by the stars of popular culture of this time, including rappers and social networking platform stars Jānis Krīvēns and Edgars Bāliņš, as well as rapper Ji.
The film, which was shot in 2020, will be released in Latvian cinemas on August 27 this year. “Tizlenes” is produced by the Latvian film studio “Ego Media” in cooperation with the Czech company “8Heads Productions” and the local content producer “Tet studio”. The films made by the studio also include director Viesturs Kairiss’s “Piļsāta pi river” (2019), Dāvis Sīmanis’ documentary “Mūris” (2013), Ilze Burkovska-Jakobsen’s documentary animated film “My favorite war” (2020) and others.
