On August 16, two concerts (at 20.00 and 22.00) will take place in the public outdoor space in Bieriņi, on the left bank of Mārupīte, opposite the Mārupīte Stone Sculpture Park (landmark – the intersection of Slampes, Kantora and Amulas streets), as well as a concert recording.
Composed in 1986 by the brightest contemporary minimalist, American composer Philip Glass, the song series “Songs From Liquid Days” is like a prophetic reflection on time and love, visualizing the connection between the material and intangible world, between the living and the dead, breaking the boundaries of time and space. depicting dreams as an insight into eternity. The authors of the words – Paul Simon, the avant-garde of pop music in the 1980s – Paul Simon, who earned world fame with the duo “Simon and Garfunkel”, and Glas give the cycle its part of prophecy, creating something completely different; Susan Vega, also known as the “mother of MP3”, because her song “Tom’s Diner” was used as the basis for the creation of MP3s under the direction of the German scientist Karlhainz Branderburg; David Child, who was invited as the generator of the idea for this cycle, and Lorry Anderson, without whose avant-garde handwriting this cycle might be too realistic, but now it takes you somewhere deeper into the senses of man, nature and the world.
