The young people of Dunakesz voted for comedian Sándor Badár – Dunakanyar Region

The popular comedian Sándor Badár held a stand-alone evening this afternoon at the József Attila VOKE Cultural Center. For years, Dunakeszi has been treating the seniors with programs on the occasion of October 1, the World Day of the Elderly. This year, the senior population voted for humor, as this time they had the opportunity to choose the performer.

Attila Csoma, head of the institution, councilor for the elderly, greeted the ladies and gentlemen present. As we learned, the number of residents over 65 living in the settlement is nearly 7,000, and the town has the country’s largest retirement club. The active community regularly goes on trips, organizes programs, and refutes the name “retired age group” with their activity.

The municipality of Dunakeszi also tries to take care of the over 65s as widely as possible: last year and again this year, they organize a health screening program, where the participants can fulfill the importance of prevention. So far, 1,068 young adults have registered for the Gondosóra service, which is becoming increasingly popular both nationally and locally. Attila Csoma also informed our paper that pensioners can also use the town’s resort on the Balatonakaratty at a discounted price in the pre- and post-season periods.

We are approaching the end of the year, and in accordance with our traditions, we are also preparing a gift package this year, stated the director of VOKE. “Strengthening and building relationships between generations is important to us, and accordingly this year we are also asking for the students’ help in delivering the packages. Our goal is to strengthen connections between generations. We believe that this is a very important pillar of respect and esteem,” Attila Csoma pointed out.
