The young musician Emilija / Article makes her debut with the song “August”

Emilija writes her own songs and calls her style indie-popu. She is currently studying at the Jazz Department of Ventspils Music High School.

“I met Emilija at Ventspils Music High School and in the first lesson I asked if she writes songs. Emily answered – no. But said that for next week will bring. In the end, Emilija carried a new song for an hour, sometimes even two, but six months later she was already playing her solo concert, which included only original music. As Emilia’s teacher, it was very inspiring for me to experience her creative spirit, inexhaustible work ability and above all – to be present at this moment when a beautiful girl grows out of a little girl who has a lot to say through very tasteful, memorable songs, ”says Evija Webere , one of Emilia ‘s first teachers.

The song was produced by Pēteris Lunde, a member of the group “The Sound Poets” and “Dairy Adventures”. He said: “Agnese Rakovska addressed me with a request to produce Emilija’s song. I didn’t know about Emily before and I hadn’t heard of her. I listened to a demo recording a couple of times and then, after my daily ritual – coffee mugs, I started working. First I let “August” sound in my head, then I sat down at the piano and let my feelings. It seemed that the most important thing here was to highlight Emilia’s great voice. “
