The young Czechs lit up the Grand Slam qualification, Fruhvirtová also gave away the canary

The young Czech tennis players made their debut in the Australian Grand Slam qualifiers with great success. Brenda Fruhvirtová, Barbora Palicová and Sára Bejlek successively succeeded in the fight to advance to the main stage of the first event of the big four.

15-year-old Brenda Fruhvirtová, in her first attempt at an adult Grand Slam, managed Natalija Stevanović from Serbia 6:0, 7:6. But it wasn’t without complications as she lost a promising 5:2 lead in the second set.

16-year-old Sára Bejlek also scored a canary during the first qualifying round, in a 6:4 and 6:0 win over Russia’s Darja Astachova.

Barbora Palicová, two years older, beat Chloé Paquetová of France after sets 6:4 and 7:6.

Conversely, Linda Nosková paid extra for last week’s busy schedule. The finalist of the Adelaide event lost her opening battle of the qualifiers against Katherine Sebova of Canada 4:6, 6:3, 4:6.

Thirty-seven-year-old Lukáš Rosol also ends, who was not enough against the Italian Francesco Passaro in three sets.
