Long courted by RC Lens, the young nugget formed in FC Nantes Batista Mendy is expected to engage in the coming days at the SCO d’Angers, 13th in the French championship. The 21-year-old midfielder has played only three top-flight matches, including two in Ligue 1 and one in the Coupe de France. According to the daily The team, the player will initial a 3-year contract with the Angevin club.

Very much in demand this summer, the young French midfielder who can also play a defender, has finally decided to join Maine-et-Loire and SCO d’Angers for a 3-year contract. While many French clubs had positioned themselves to recruit Batista Mendy (Brest, Bordeaux…), RC Lens seemed to be the most able to recover him. Having failed to secure a convincing offer from Sang et Or, the 21-year-old turned to Angers who also seemed very interested in signing him.
Its value on the transfer market is around half a million euros, according to the site Transfermarkt. However, the player was at the end of his contract this summer and therefore arrived free and open to the SCO. This season, FC Nantes had made various proposals to him to reiterate his adventure in the Canaries, in vain, since the player had refused them all.
