The Dombes has a hope of athletics. The young Martin Rivollier, resident of Birieux, has just been crowned Rhône cross-country champion. 11 years old, he runs in the chick category. He won his departmental title this Sunday, January 15 at Anse in Beaujolais.
The race took place in the morning over a distance of 1,490 meters precisely. The course was very muddy after the rains of the previous days.

After his victory, he received his medal and was congratulated by a great French champion. Savoyard Annette Sergent, double cross-country world champion (in 1987 and 1989), appreciated the young champion’s stride and attitude.
