The former resident of the Bastia club Arte Acqua Bastia distinguished herself at the national artistic swimming meeting for Young People and Hopes which was held last week in Douai, in the North, by winning 4 medals.

It is a very good performance that signed last week the young artistic swimmer from Bastia Manon Venturi, 14 years old, during the national Youth and Hope meeting which was held from December 10 to 13 in Douai, in the North: two medals gold, one silver and one bronze obtained at the end of these three days of competition, the first of the season.
“It’s a very good performance, confirms his mother Stéphanie Venturi. Manon is particularly proud of her solo gold medal.“The young swimmer thus won the gold medal in technical ballet and in the solo free event, the silver medal in compulsory figures and the bronze medal in the free duet with her partner Carla Pugi.
From the first day of the competition, Manon Venturi had taken the lead in the standings of the solo qualifiers, with 76 points.
The former resident of the Arte Acqua Bastia club (ex Fun Beluga) has been working for the past 3 years at the Pays d’Aix Natation club, a regional pole of the discipline. With her very good results, she confirms her progress in a sport that she started to practice eight years earlier.
“Manon initially did classical dance, but after watching the 2012 Olympics, she wanted to be entered into artistic swimming.“, explains Stéphanie Venturi.
Next step for the young girl: a possible selection in the French team. “It’s a fairly long and complicated process, in 6 stages, and Manon has already qualified for the second. We should find out more in the coming days. “
The national meeting replaced the French Winter Championships, canceled because of the health crisis. Containment period requires, the competition of last week, which brought together ten clubs and twenty officials was held behind closed doors. The events were broadcast live on social networks.
