For the fourth Saturday in a row, yellow vests and signs are out. The demonstrators took over the Sainte-Eulalie roundabout this Saturday near the shopping area
After Libourne and Saint-André-de-Cubzac the previous weekends, around forty demonstrators met this Saturday near the Sainte-Eulalie roundabout, north of Bordeaux. Among them, yellow vests from the Bassens collective, “angry citizens”, union members from various local unions.
For this fourth meeting of what they call “The waltz of the roundabouts”, they plan to spend the whole day near the shopping area. The demonstration was declared in the prefecture.

“We are not giving up,” insists Nadia Fouché, one of the participants. CGT Educ’action red vest on the back, the teacher lists all the demands: “Everything has worsened since the demonstrations of the yellow vests. Diesel fuel has increased, student precariousness has increased, health personnel lack the means, the reform of unemployment insurance will send more workers into precariousness, we are also opposed to the reform of housing assistance. “
Signs workshop
The demands also accumulate on the leaflet that the demonstrators negotiated to be able to distribute with the gendarmes present. “Studying, housing, aging, living is a luxury! Wages are falling, purchasing power is falling. Luxury is within our reach, let’s take back our rights. “
A sign making workshop is planned. They will join the signs already placed on the roundabout. “We will keep them for the next events, we will be the spokespersons of those who wrote them”, promises Christophe Leroy, territorial official in a mayor of the metropolis, also unionized.
“The convergence is also geographic, we are joined by demonstrators from other departments”, learns Nadia Fouché. Next Saturday they will be at the Garosse roundabout in Saint-André-de-Cubzac where they hope to be joined by the world of culture and then they should go on April 24 in Lot-et-Garonne, in Samazan.
