The yellow brick road in Las Charlas de Applesfera

One more week we started Las Tallas de Applesfera, where we review the news of these last days. With WWDC in mind, we have products in our sights like the Apple Watch Series 7 and the legendary blood glucose sensor. There is also time to see the consequences of the iOS 14.5 app tracking, as well as the light at the end of the tunnel in Epic’s lawsuit against Apple.

The WWDC starts to get closer on the horizon as we consider what we can expect in it from the next operating systems. Before getting into the topics of the week, we wonder what the new macOS will be like, already developed with Apple Silicon equipment on the street. It will be the first version to be able to exploit all its advantages to the maximum.

And we swiftly turn to the Apple Watch Series 7, which is rumored to have a glucose sensor. We doubt that it can reach this version, but we are sure that next year or the next it should already be ready. The glucose sensor of the Apple Watch will arrive, but we do not know when it will.

Regarding iOS 14.5 and its new privacy tool that blocks app and website tracking, this week we have learned that 88% of users worldwide have activated it. In the US the percentage is even higher, with 96% of users rejecting the tracking. Here we talk about the good work done by Apple as well as the creation of tools for private tracking as an alternative.

We review the latest events in the case of Epic Games against Apple, where a light seems to be seen at the end of the tunnel. Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers has proposed a compromise solution that could end the contest. Although for this, both companies should give in their demands.

And finally, we remember the time when Apple removed the illuminated apple on its portable Macs. We explore the possible reasons that led to it and how we could see a possible resurrection of such a mythical logo.
