Step- With six more deaths from Covid-19, El Paso County woke up today on this first day of the year, according to the El Paso Department of Public Health (DPH), a figure that brings the total deaths to 1,473.
Authorities noted that the deaths did not occur on the same day, but over a period of approximately one month.
The deaths correspond to three women and three men in ages from 60 to 90 years; all with underlying health conditions, according to the report.
Likewise, 338 new cases of Covid-19 and an additional 28 were registered that are part of the delayed local results issued by the State to the Department of Public Health.
The results come from tests conducted during weeks 45,46,47, 48, 49, 50, 52 and 53 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We are currently at 53.
With these figures, the cumulative total of positive cases is now 98,906, of which 62,706 people have recovered while 34,151 cases remain active.
Regarding hospitalizations, the report indicates that 380 patients are receiving medical care due to the coronavirus, of which 141 are in the Intensive Care area (ICU) and 109 are connected to ventilators.
