The yacht from which the Nord Stream was blown up was chartered with a forged Bulgarian passport

Two of the group had Ukrainian passports

The alleged group, which is believed to be involved in the sabotage of the Nord Stream gas pipelines, used a forged Bulgarian passport when renting the yacht “Andromeda” in Germany, the German magazine “Spiegel” reported, citing data from the investigation.

German media say that a group of 6 people chartered the yacht and possibly transported the explosives to the pipelines in the Baltic Sea. However, it is still unclear how many people exactly the group consisted of.

“For now, it remains unclear how many people the group consisted of, as not all of them gave their details (during the hiring). Two of the individuals had Ukrainian passports. Apparently, at least one forged Bulgarian passport was also used,” the article notes .

Earlier, “Spiegel” reported that the saboteurs hired the 15-meter sailing yacht “Andromeda” to transport the explosives to “Nord Stream”, BTA reported. It is stated that the vessel in question, which is a Bavaria Cruiser 50, was chartered through a charter company on the island of Rügen.

In January of this year, during their investigations, the Federal Prosecutor’s Office searched a suspicious vessel. There are suspicions that it may also have been used to transport the explosive devices that exploded on September 26, 2022 in the Nord Stream pipelines.

According to diving experts, such an attack is possible even from a sailing yacht, provided the saboteurs are professionals.

Meanwhile, the Kremlin cited reports of an alleged private pro-Ukraine group behind the attacks.
