This is the outing not to be missed for lovers of vintage clothing and for those who are nostalgic: the giant traveling second-hand store Vinokilo is setting up at Wip de Colombelles, a third place just next to Caen. The sale of clothes dating from the 60s to 2000 takes place from Friday December 17 until Sunday 19, at the end of the afternoon.

It’s about a declining sales per kilo since the kilo costs 50 euros on Friday, 45 euros on Saturday and 40 euros on Sunday. A communication strategy but also a way to spread the number of visitors over the three days since they are numerous.
“We sold around 1000 presales“, explains Lise Dary, project manager at Wip. So even if it is difficult to know how many visitors will come in total, we are already expecting several hundred people per day..”
It must be said that the German company Vinokilo is a benchmark in the vintage world, since it is the largest traveling thrift store in Europe and travels to very large cities such as Rome, Berlin, Vienna, etc. This Thursday, she arrived in Colombelles with a 28 ton truck full of clothes, hangers and cranes.

Many got up early for the occasion. This is the case of Blandine, who came with her mother to have an outside opinion during the fitting. “I found some great woolen pants, she explains, it’s great because it’s classy, it keeps you warm and I couldn’t afford it outside thrift store“.
But what motivates her is also the fact of do not buy fast fashion, for ecological conscience. And there are a lot of young people at the thrift store to share his opinion, like Valentin. “I come to support a greener vision of consuming, he specifies, çI have been buying second-hand for several years for this reason.“
Maryline and her companion Pascal, have not been so young for years, but coming here brings back many memories to them. “I’m 50 years old and I find clothes that I put on when I was 20, it’s great“, she says.
The sale continues until late Sunday afternoon at Wip, rue des Ateliers in Colombelles (14460), entry is free with compulsory health pass.
