The Alicantel Festival of Bands, now an annual event with music, reaches its 24th edition. This meeting, organized by the Alicante City Council and the Provincial Government, will take place on March 15 at the ADDA at two times . The first of them at 11 am, to give way to the performance of half of the groups, and the second, at 5.30 pm, with the rest of the bands in the province.
Currently participating in this festival are the Municipal Symphonic Band, the La Amistad de Villafranqueza Musical Society, the Ciudad de Asís Musical Union, L’Harmonia Societat Musical and the Carolinas Cultural Sports Society Band
This musical meeting arose at the proposal of the four musical societies in the city, which had been carrying out this act since 1996. Twenty years later, in 2016, the Department of Culture began its collaboration in this time with the allocation of a budget and technical assistance.
It was in that same year, when the Jove de les Societats Musicals Band was formed, a union of the four youth bands of the societies, which brings together some 150 musicians who form a large band of new instrumentalists. The Alicante Bands Festival has the participation of around 500 musicians from the city.
The day begins at 11 in the morning, with performances by the Ciudad de Asís Musical Union, L´Harmonia Societat Musical and the Alicante Municipal Symphonic Band.
After the break, the festival will resume its program at 17:30. From then on, the Jove Banda de les Societats Musical d’Alacant, the Band Cultural Society Association of Carolinas and the Musical Society La Amistad de Villafranqueza will take the stage.
Free tickets can be collected at the ADDA, from Monday to Friday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Fridays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., until full capacity is reached.
