The Xunta will convene a line of aid for social entities to finance the construction of new centers or the expansion and renovation of existing ones

The Minister of Social Policy and Youth, Fabiola García, announced this morning that the Xunta de Galicia is going to publish a new line of aid that will provide 13 million euros so that social entities can build, expand or renovate care centers for the elderly or people with disabilities. She did it this morning during her visit, accompanied by the delegate of the Xunta, Marta Fernández-Tapias, to the residence that ASPANAEX is building in the Vigo neighborhood of Coia.

Fabiola García stressed that the Galician Government is already supporting the construction of the residential center of this entity, through aid that reaches 176,000 euros. Furthermore, Aspanaex will be able to present this call to access the most funds that allow it to continue with the start-up of this residence that will have 58 care places for people with disabilities.

In addition, the Minister of Social Policy valued the commitment of the Autonomous Administration with the families that are part of this entity, since the Xunta is financing a hundred places in the different Aspanaex centers for close to 1 million euros.

This amount is one more example of the Galician Government’s commitment and commitment to specialized services that meet the needs of all people. Thus, since 2009, places for people with disabilities have increased by 30%, reaching the current 5,600.
